CLAREMORE — SATURDAY Sept. 24

Benefit barbecue dinner, 5-8 p.m., at Foyil Assembly of God. Dinner includes choice of brisket, pork, smoked sausage, hot links, and sides. Two-meat choice, $10; three-meat choice, $12; children 3-12, half price. Call-in orders accepted: (918) 343-0068. Proceeds benefit building fund.

Eastern Hills Baptist Church 3rd Annual Fall Arts & Crafts Show, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at the church located off Highway 20, one mile north of Will Rogers Downs. Booth space available for $25. Information: (918) 740-6973 or ehbcrafts@gmail.com. Free and open to the public.

Rogers County Historical Society’s “The Great Gatsby Gala” fundraiser, 7-10 p.m., at the Will Rogers Memorial. Entertainment by J.T. & the Big Band, dancing on the terrace, samples of local cuisine. Prizes awarded for best period costume. Cost: $25 per couple or $15 per person. Advance tickets available at the Belvidere Mansion.

There will be no September Angel Food distribution at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. Information: (918) 341-5435.

Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club meeting, 1 p.m., at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1310 N. Sioux. Those interested in working on Club Shawls or practicing Indian signing of the Lord’s Prayer is welcome to come at 11 a.m.

Foyil Baptist Church Clothing Ministry gives away free clothing every Saturday, 9-11 a.m.

Jam session and dance, 7-10 p.m., at the Claremore VFW, 1717 Dupont. Bring a covered dish. Admission, $2 (free for musicians); children under 18 free (must be accompanied by a parent).

High School ROTC car wash at Westlake Ace Hardware, 9 a.m to 1 p.m. The students will be raising money for summer leadership camps.



SUNDAY Sept. 25

American Red Cross blood drive, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., at First United Methodist Church of Claremore. Call to schedule an appointment: 1-800-RED CROSS. Walk-ins welcome.

First Christian Church Youth’s free car wash fundraiser, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., at Stanford Court, 7th Street and Highway 66. Hot dog lunches for sale. Donations accepted.



MONDAY Sept. 26

Rogers County Historical Society meeting, 7 p.m., at Northeast Technology Center Claremore campus. Claremore Museum of History plans to be discussed by speakers Tom Pool, Barbara Stafira, and NTC EAST program coordinator and students. Public is invited.

Will Rogers Library Genealogy Volunteers are available each Monday from 3-7 p.m. to answer questions and assist with research.

Friendship Feast, a free hot meal, 5-6:30 p.m. each Monday, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 200 East 5th Street.

American Legion Post #141 Claremore bingo, 7:30 p.m. Information: (918) 341-1330.

First Presbyterian Church Schools for the Arts art classes begin. Adult class, 6-8 p.m. each Monday; children’s class, 3:30-5 p.m. each Tuesday, at the church’s Life Center, 115 E. TUESDAY Sept. 27

Rogers County Democratic Party’s monthly meeting, 6:30 p.m., at the Rogers County Building. Updates on website, dinners, the November/December meetings, and other activities to be discussed.

Zebra Band Give Back Night at McDonald’s on Highway 66, 5-8 p.m. Twenty percent of all sales will be donated to the band. Watch the Color Guard practice.
