Benefit event for Sequoyah graduate Jeremy Rice, 6-9 p.m., at Claremore Community Center. Rice, 31, was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and is undergoing costly treatment. House of Prayer Church Fish and Chicken Fry, 4-7:30 p.m., in the church’s Josh Brown Activity Center (six miles north of Claremore on Highway 66). All you can eat fish and chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, French fries, baked beans, hushpuppies, homemade cakes and pies, and iced tea. Sigma Chi ESA, Inola, hosts Hope for Heroes honoring veterans and soldiers, 2 p.m., at Inola High School football stadium. Special speakers, displays music and performances. The Tulsa Community Band joins the Claremore High School Band to present a patriotic concert honoring past and present military personnel, 3 p.m., at Robson Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and may be purchased at the door. Proceeds benefit the Zebra Band program.
MONDAY (Nov. 9)
Pat Heidlage Gymnasium dedication at Westside Elementary, 6-6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend the dedication and dessert prior to the monthly Claremore Board of Education meeting.
Will Rogers Library genealogy volunteers are available each Monday from 5-7 p.m. to answer questions and assist with research.
WEDNESDAY (Nov. 11)
The women of Foyil United Methodist Church host their monthly dinner, beginning at 11 a.m. This month’s menu is Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings for $7. They will also have a bake sale.
SATURDAY (Nov. 14)
