Veterans' Weekend Activities


TODAY

10 a.m. — Verdigris School Assembly honors veterans

1-3 p.m. — Westside Elementary’s annual Veterans Program

6:30 p.m. — Claremore Marine Corps League and the Claremore Veterans Center celebrate the 232nd birthday of the US Marine Corps. Members of Tulsa’s Schwab MCL will join the Claremore group, veteran Marine patients at the CVC, their family, friends and visitors from the Marine Corps on active duty. Traditional Marine Corps birthday cake will be served.



SATURDAY

9 a.m. — Line up for the Claremore Veterans Day Parade to start at 10 a.m. beginning at the Expo Center. Dinner for veterans served at the Veterans Center following the parade. Parade entries, call Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service, 341-2487.

7 p.m. — Ramblers Square Dance Club and Cherokee Ramblers Band host dance, 7 p.m., Collinsville American Legion, Ninth and Main. Cost, $2.50 per person. Information: 371-4757.



SUNDAY

2 p.m. — Military ceremony at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2 p.m., 801 S. Normal. Veterans encouraged to wear medals and decorations. Public welcome.



MONDAY

5-9 p.m. — Claremore’s Golden Corral will salute American veterans with a free dinner. Thunderbird Youth Academy cadets will provide an Honor Guard and the Cadet

Drill Team also will demonstrate precision maneuvers.
