Stone Canyon developments approved

CLAREMORE — The Rogers County Commissioners met Monday conducting business as usual. 

Commissioners had a light agenda with decisions limited to plat approval, project update on the new courthouse and opening bids for districts one and two.
Planning Commission Director Larry Curtis made recommendations to approve the plats for Phase IV and V of Greystone at Stone Canyon after a brief presentation.
The commissioners approved the final plats and Curtis revealed the numbers for new home construction growth for October.
During October permits for 15 new homes and three commercial buildings were issued.
A trend for new home growth continues with much of the development being contained to the Owasso portion of Rogers County.
As the meeting continued,  Commissioner Mike Helm presented a fund transfer to pay off two pieces equipment, a roller and a paver. 
Additionally, Helm announced the receipt of approximately $1.8 million in funds from FEMA as part of the Keetonville Road alternative project.
Helm also received a number of bids for two pieces of equipment, a backhoe and track hoe.
Commissioner Dan DeLozier also received bids for a used bucket truck.
None of the bids were selected as they were deferred for one to two  weeks for further review.
Flintco officials provided an update on the new courthouse and highlighted the tile work that has been completed on the bathrooms and continuing interior finishing on the third and fourth floors.
In other business, the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office will be receiving $6,000 in overtime funding for overtime wages during the upcoming holiday season.
The Oklahoma highway safety office is giving the funds as part of the More Cops More Stops program.
The Excise Board will now be meeting at the beginning of the month instead on the last working day of the month to help the treasurer’s office with reporting demands.
Assistant District Attorney David Iski reminded everyone that Tuesday is Election Day and encouraged county employees to vote.

    The event is a public service for residents sponsored by the city and Cherokee Nation CRC, according to Stormwater Manager Charlene Lawrence.
