Ask The Mayor

CLAREMORE — I have noticed the road south of the Sonic Drive-In on Highway 66 South is in need of repair.  This road is utilized by an apartment complex and patrons to the shopping center.  Does the City have plans to fix the roadway in the near future?  Also are the plans for a splash pad for kids still moving forward?

The roadway is not a dedicated city street but on private property.  Therefore the City is prohibited from making the much needed improvements.  It is the responsibility of the landowner to maintain this road.
In answer to the second question, the plans are moving forward and we hope to have the splash pad open for the public this summer.  The splash pad will be built at Claremore Lake.
See you around town!
