A Collinsville man was arrested by Sheriff’s deputies over the weekend when his mother contacted authorities after suspecting him of manufacturing Methamphetamine.
According to reports from the Rogers County Sheriff’s office, Deputy Ronnie Roden was dispatched to a 152nd E. Ave. residence in western Rogers County (Collinsville) on Saturday, Feb. 11 in response to a call by a woman who said she knew of her “son to be cooking Methamphetamine in his bedroom.”
The woman had told dispatch that she “knew the smell” and was “very concerned for her son’s safety,” according to reports.
Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Roden was met by the suspect’s mother outside, who invited the officer inside, at which time, he observed a “clear plastic bottle with a plastic hose coming out of the top (of the bottle) on the nightstand beside the bed,” reports indicate.
Additionally, Deputy Roden observed a hair dryer laying on the bed, with a fan pointed out the open window— an attempt to “remove the (meth) smell” from the room.
Deputy Roden then confiscated the drug-related paraphernalia, and took 21-year-old Cody Roberts into custody and booked him into Rogers County Jail on charges of manufacturing controlled dangerous substance (CDS), and possession of a controlled substance, both of which are felony charges.
Roberts later bonded out and was released.
