INOLA —
Rogers County Sheriff’s deputies are reporting the recovery of two vehicles stolen overnight from Foyil Public Schools.
According to Deputy Jerry Smittle, deputies have recovered a 2009 Suburban and a Ford Taurus, both were reported missing early this Wednesay morning when staff and students began arriving for school.
The vehicles, were used in association with Driver’s Education class, sustained significant damage prior to their recovery, Smittle said.
“The Taurus, which was recovered in Mayes County, was severely burnt, so much so that it took us a while to ascertain it was one of the vehicles stolen from the school,” Smittle said, “and the Suburban had been driven until the tires were damaged or just went flat. We found it in Rogers County, and it had sustained considerable body damage.”
Sheriff’s deputies are currently taking the Suburban in to be dusted for fingerprints, and they also are seeking any information regarding the theft of these vehicles.
Persons with any information are encouraged to contact the Rogers County Sheriff’s Tip Line at (918) 341-3620.
