UPDATE: Drumright woman's body found in Rogers County

Sheriff's deputies investigating whether she died from an accident

ROGERS COUNTY — Rogers County Sheriff's deputies discovered the body of a woman in the middle of the road at 7:30 p.m. Sunday on their way to a domestic disturbance call.

The woman was dead on 136th Stree North near 147the East Avenue, east of Collinsville.

Sheriff Scott Walton said the deceased woman was believed to be involved in the domestic dispute, but the cause of death is still under investigation.

Officers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol took the victim's spouse into custody for questioning after locating him on driving back to his home in Drumright.

The man was questioned by the Rogers County Sheriff's deputies and released at this time.

An ongoing investigation continues as the officers are trying to determine if the victim's death was accidental.

The name of the victim is to be released later today.
