Sammy wins Progress Pet Calendar Contest

Staff Reports Claremore Progress

CLAREMORE — Sammy, a Yorkie owned by Heather Gaynor of Claremore is the winner of the annual Claremore Progress Pet Calendar Contest.

Sammy will appear on the cover of the upcoming calendar.
Maris Cowherd, a Jack Russell Terrier, owned by Sam Cowherd of Claremore finished second.
Rounding out the top 14 were:
3: Oscar, a Norwegian Forest Cat, owned by Linda Slatton, Claremore; 4: Wesa, a yellow Tuxedo, owned by Lynette Trotter, Claremore; 5: Lucy Greggs, Papitese owned by Chris and Debbie Greggs, Claremore; 6: Buddha, a Schnauzer, owned by Jewell Turner, Inola; 7: Cougarridge Sunshine Sparkleage , a Golden Retriever, owned by Sumathy Vannarth, Claremore; 8: Snookie, a Boxer, owned by Dawn Andersen-Long, Claremore; 9: Jack, an Italian Greyhound owned by Whitney Main, Claremore; 10: Ronni, a Cock-a-Poo owned by Scott Christmann, Claremore; 11: Stuart, a Cock-a-Poo owned by  Chris & Barbara Chirstmann, Claremore; 12: Apache, a Great Dane owned by Hayes and Landers Family, Claremore; 13: Sassy, a Shih Tzu owned by Brent and Patti Crutchfield, Claremore, and 14: Prince Ace, a Shih Tzu owned by Brent and Patti Crutchfield, Claremore.

    The Claremore Public School District will participate in the USDA Summer Food Service Program from May 20 through Aug. 9 for children 18 and younger. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-8 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m at Roosa Elementary, 2001 N. Sioux

    The June 22nd Cherokee tribal council elections will be the subject of a series of forums produced by RSU Public Television.  The forums will be at 6 p.m. on June 3 in the Baird Hall Performance Studio on the Rogers State University Claremore campus.
