SPSF gears up for annual fundraiser

SEQUOYAH —  

Sequoyah Public Schools Foundation will host its annual Wild Thing Dinner & Auction at 6 p.m., Feb. 2 in the Mid-High cafeteria. This year’s theme is “Grandma’s Country Kitchen.”
Auction items are donated by local businesses, teachers, students, parents and the community, and include BancFirst OSU tickets-gift basket, Oak Tree Photography family and senior portrait sessions, Light’n Pawn guitar and amplifier, Toshiba laptop from Robin May Insurance, a tablet from Century 21 Claremore group and more.
Tickets are available for $12. 
Funds raised from the event will be used by the foundation to provide classroom grants for teachers. 
Donations can be dropped off at the Central Office in the Sequoyah Administration building. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (918) 341-5472.

  • 100 miles Catalayah runners reach 100 miles goal

    More than 100 students joined Catalayah Elementary’s new running club this year. The program was initiated as a partnership with the Cherokee Nation Healthy Nation program following the construction of the school track last July.

    The June 22nd Cherokee tribal council elections will be the subject of a series of forums produced by RSU Public Television.  The forums will be at 6 p.m. on June 3 in the Baird Hall Performance Studio on the Rogers State University Claremore campus.

    Claremore High School graduate and S.P.A.R.K. President Anthony Wolfe recently presented the American Red Cross with a $1,000 check Tuesday from the student organization’s recent “You’ve Been Flocked” fundraiser, which involved the placement and replacement of numerous pink lawn flamingos.
