December 18, 2009 — The Rogers County Conservation District has announced that funds are available for cost-share assistance on selected conservation practices benefiting soil and water conservation.
The State of Oklahoma has provided limited funds to help landowners in Rogers County implement measures that protect soil and water resources. Eligibility requirements include owning or operating at least 20 acres of land from which more than $1,000 of soil dependent products are sold annually.
Conservation practices available for cost share assistance include the following: critical area planting, grade stabilization structure; obstruction removal within a named waterway; pond; range planting; pasture/hayland planting; nutrient management when associated with pasture/hayland planting; terrace; diversion; grassed waterway; fence in situations where the fence was destroyed by flood; and streambank and shoreline protection.
The district will be accepting applications through Dec. 31. For more information, call the Rogers County Conservation District at 341-4147. The office is loacted at 1900 W. Will Rogers Circle, Ste. C in Claremore. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
