Zoi’s Rescue to showcase adoptable pets in Owasso

September 8, 2009 — Zoi’s Animal Rescue will participate in Petsmart's nationwide fall Adoptathon at Petsmart's Owasso store.

Zoi's will be there Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12-4 p.m.

Adoptions have been down across the greater Tulsa area over the past year.

This is a because of the sagging economy with the resulting in increase in foreclosures that has many dogs and cats being left behind and abandoned.

Zoi's is a “no kill” group and unless the current group of rescued animals are adopted to good homes, no more can be acceptec, which compounds the plight of the homeless pets left to wander the streets and ditches without care or shelter.

Zoi's Animal Rescue is a no kill organization dedicated to all-animal rescue, providing safe haven, rehabilitation, and veterinary care for abandoned, injured, lost, neglected or abused animals and placing them into responsible and stable homes.

Zoi’s strives to help end the cycle of abuse, ignorance and pet overpopulation through low-cost spay/neuter and education programs.

“Further, we strive to improve the lives of people through the bond with pets,” said Debbie Stellas, Zoi’s spokesperson. “This includes; assistance to the elderly with their pets, promoting responsible pet ownership, and kindness to all living things. We also strive to end the plight of feral cats.”
