Downtown Claremore to go green & gold on St. Patrick’s Day

Claremore Daily Progress

CLAREMORE — A visit to Downtown Claremore stores during the next two weeks could land you some “green” this year on St. Patrick’s Day. Beginning Monday, March 1 through Tuesday, March 16, participating downtown stores will be giving out entries to win a Pot-O-Gold worth over $500 in cash in prizes.

Downtown shoppers can receive one free entry per store visit and additional entries for each purchase made during the Pot-O-Gold Giveaway. Shoppers can also increase their chances of winning with the purchase of additional entries for $1 each.

Downtown stores participating in The Pot-O-Gold Drawing (so far) include A Gallery of the Arts, Antiques, Etc., Belvidere Tea Room, Bike About Bicycles, Boarding House Books, Boom-a-Rang Diner, Claremore Daily Progress, Dorothy’s Flowers, Heins Jewelry, Hudson Metcalf Antique Mall, My Doll Castle, Nostalgia Nook, Now & Then Antiques, Outwest Décor, RCP Printing, Taps Unlimited, The Pink House, Vintage Rose Apparel and Waterfront Frame & Art.

The Pot-O-Gold Drawing will be held at 2 p.m. at the Claremore Main Street’s Downtown St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.

Volunteers will be serving a traditional Irish meal of Bangers (Irish Sausage made special for us by Walke Bros. Meat Company) & Mash (mashed potatoes), drink and dessert for only $5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. downtown in the Claremore Daily Progress parking lot.

The always-fun Celtic Cheer band will be performing great Irish tunes and face painting will be available for leprechauns of all ages.

You can also pose for photos with Will Rogers who will be wearing the green for the day. Wear your green and join the fun at the St. Patrick’s Day Sidewalk parade at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets for the meal can be purchased in advance at any of the participating downtown merchants or for those that can’t join the fun, pre-orders (5 or more meals) will be taken and the traditional Irish meal can be delivered to your workplace.

Proceeds from the $5.00 Bangers & Mash meal will be used to fund additional downtown enhancements such as seasonal decorative flags, planters and plants.
