    Claremore businessman, Rotarian, community civic leader, father, and husband Paul Bickford was killed Friday in a wreck near Locust Grove, authorities said.

    Dr. Derrick Gragg has been selected as The University of Tulsa’s vice president and director of athletics, TU President Steadman Upham announced today.
     
    Gragg has spent the past seven years as the Director of Athletics at Eastern Michigan University, where he has been responsible for an intercollegiate athletic program with 21 teams, 550 student-athletes and 80 staff members. Gragg has spent the past 20 years in progressively advanced roles at the universities of Arkansas, Michigan, Missouri and Vanderbilt.

    Workers worked through Monday night to restore power at the Claremore Water Treament Plant after a transformer blew and prevent the city from treating and producing water.

  • Transformer explosion shuts off Claremore water supply

    An electrical transformer explosion at the Claremore Water Department has cut off the city's water supply. City crews are working to restore power to the water department as soon as possible.

    Due to inclement weather, the Class 3A Regional Basketball Tournament at Verdigris High School has been moved to Friday.

    Games were suppose to be played today, but Newkirk had travel concerns that shifted the games to be played on Friday.
