Fallin and Askins to face off for governor

OKLAHOMA CITY — Congressman Mary Fallin will be the Republican nominee for Oklahoma's next governor, while Lt. Gov. Jari Akins, who edged Attorney General Drew Edmondson by about 2.100 votes, will be the Democratic nominee.

With 87 percent of the state's 2,244 precinct reporting Fallin has 57 percent of the vote over Owasso's Sen. Randy Brogdon, who has 37 percdent.

On the Democratic said Askins lead Edmondson with 117,278 votes to 112,487 (51 to 49 percent) with 86 percent of the precincts reporting.

Republican Todd Lamb leads his closes challenger John Wright with 120,781 votes to 31,012 in the Lt. Gov. race.
