Claremore police and firemen made a non-emergency run to Claremore High School recently to pick up more than 5,000 non-perishable food items donated to the “Share the Spirit” campaign by high school students. Claremore High School’s student council sponsored a contest to collect items for the annual fundraiser. “This year, we’ve had more request for assistance than ever before,” said Claremore Chief of Police, Mickey Perry. “For the first time, we’ve had more than 1,000 requests for help through Share the Spirit, and the efforts of the high school students will certainly go a long way towards making this Christmas a better one for several families in Rogers County.”
