Murrays celebrate 56 years of marriage

Leo and Barbara (White) Murray of Claremore recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. They were wed Nov. 23, 1951, in Van Buren, Ark.

The couple met in Muskogee and married while Leo was in the Navy. They were stationed in Astoria, Ore. and San Diego, Calif. Later they moved with their children to Tulsa, Salt Lake City, Utah, and then back to Oklahoma.

They built a home in Verdigris and lived there for 20 years. With the children grown, they moved to Grove to open a needlework shop, “Ewe and Me.”

Leo retired form Rockwell International and is now employed at the “Office.” Barbara works for Safenet Services in Claremore.

The couple’s children include: daughter Lennette and husband Alan Lawless, son Mark Murray and Tami Summers, and son Kelly and wife Kim Murray.

Grandchildren are Summer Gayman, Kate Woods, and Rick Murray. Great-grandchildren are Anna Gayman, Christian Gayman, and Conner Woods.
