Mark and Cheryl (Walker) Newman recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. The couple was married July 8, 1967 in Tulsa.
Mark and Cheryl met at Lee Elementary School when they were in the 4th grade.
The couple’s children are: Lori and Pat Flaherty of Albuquerque, N.M.; Cari and Mike Pittman of Claremore; Megan and Mike Morrissey of Claremore; and Matt and Rachel Newman of Tahlequah. Grandchildren are: Kelsey Flaherty, Talon Flaherty, Jeffery Pittman, Mark Pittman, Faith Morrissey, and Anabel Morrissey.
A celebration was held on July 7 at Claremore Community Center.
