Winterscheids celebrate golden anniversary

Ed and Janice Winterscheid will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on June 16, 2007. This day in 1957 was the day two soul mates were united as one.

Janice Ann (Palmour) Winterscheid is the daughter of Juanita and Howard Palmour. Janice grew up in the Claremore area, and attended Claremore Schools until the middle of her senior year. At that time the family moved to Eureka, Kan., where she met Ed Winterscheid.

Ed is the son of Glenn and Rosa Olive Winterscheid of Yates Center, Kan. The couple met while dragging main street where Ed yelled across the street to Janice, “You wanna go dancing?”

After Janice graduated high school, they were married at the First Christian Church in Claremore by Rev. Hugh Holland. Since that time the couple has remained in the Claremore area. Ed and Janice have four children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with the fifth on the way.

To celebrate the occasion, a reception will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the VFW in Claremore.
